Weststar Aviation Services marked a powerful presence at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2025 with two significant milestones including advancing Malaysia’s aviation industry and strengthening global partnerships.
The company hosted the official document exchange ceremony with Leonardo for the purchase of 28 helicopters, reinforcing its fleet expansion and operational excellence. Additionally, Weststar formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Melaka State Government to establish an Aviation Excellence Hub at Melaka International Airport (LTAM), in supporting aviation development, training, and innovation.
Weststar Aviation Services was represented by Executive Director, Syed Azni Syed Azman. Stefano Villanti represented Leonardo, while the Melaka State Government was represented by State Secretary, YB Dato’ Azhar bin Hj Arshad. The ceremony was witnessed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside Deputy Prime Minister I, YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi; Deputy Prime Minister II, YAB Dato’ Seri Fadillah Yusof; Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Finance II, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, and other senior government officials.
Weststar had the honour of welcoming royal delegations from Johor, Kedah, and Melaka, along with respected industry leaders from around the world. Their presence recognized Weststar as a reliable aviation partner and highlights the company’s growing role in both regional and international aviation.
