Weststar Deploys Two Aircraft to Facilitate Flood Relief Missions in East Coast Flood Stricken Areas

Following escalating flood crisis in the East Coast, Weststar Group of Companies, a local corporate conglomerate earlier today flew 6 tonnes of food supply to sparse flood stricken areas in Kelantan.The undertaking, which utilized the Group’s subsidiary, Weststar General Aviation’s Eurocopter Squirrel helicopter with 9M-AZA registration flew the food supply to affected areas since yesterday.

Meanwhile, earlier today, Weststar’s Eurocopter Dauphin with 9M-LDV registration flew the Transport Minister of Malaysia, YBhg Dato’ Seri Liow Tiong Lai to visit the areas affected by the disaster and shortly after flew Kelantan Chief Minister, YBhg Dato’ Haji Ahmad Yakob to visit a flood relief center. Lending timely logistics support to the areas affected, Group Managing Director, Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim said, “We feel sorry for the families and victims of the catastrophic flood currently occurring in the East Coast. Hence, we will do what we can to the best of our ability to help ease their plight. Collectively, we can provide a great deal of much needed support to victims of catastrophes such as this.”

Imploring more private organizations to take up similar effort, currently, Weststar is deploying two of its rotor aircraft in joint collaborations with various government agencies and NGOs’ for flood relief missions.
