Licensed aircraft engineer (LAE) Mario Seong Beom Lee tells us about his career, which has led him from the shores of Australia to the Saudi Arabian dunes, with a memorable stay in Malaysia in between. In Australia’s, Mario started his aviation journey by developing his talents while growing his enthusiasm for aircraft repair. Equipped with resolute determination and an insatiable curiosity, he set off on a voyage that would ultimately take him across countries and civilizations.
Mario arrived in Malaysia in 2013 to become an AW139 engineer with the vibrant team at Weststar Aviation Services Kerteh Base. Mario adapted well to the tight-knit group despite the initial language barrier, connecting via common experiences and cross-cultural interactions. Mario’s stay in Malaysia was enhanced by the nice Malaysian people and the friendship of his coworkers, who arranged table tennis tournaments and enjoyed local food.
