Weststar Aviation Services recently organized its first Aviation Security (AVSEC) Awareness Course in Dili, Timor-Leste, gathering 62 participants from six different organizations. The program marked an important step in improving aviation security awareness and preparedness in the region.
The training was led by Mr. Surendran from VYAN Consultancy, who provided practical insights into key areas of aviation security. Participants learned about ICAO Annex 17, the CAAM regulatory framework, civil aviation threats, and cybersecurity, gaining a clearer understanding of the challenges faced in the aviation sector today.
The course highlighted the importance of taking proactive measures to protect aviation operations. It also gave professionals from different organizations the chance to share ideas, exchange experiences, and strengthen cooperation, building a stronger sense of collective readiness.
